Huron County considers options for facilities

Huron County's C-A-O says they're looking at a number of options to try and effectively match their facilities with the services they deliver to the county.

Meighan Wark says one option they're looking at is a service model that's working in Middlesex County that involves services spread out over the county.

Wark said, “I've been tasked now with going out and taking a look at Middlesex County and a model that they have in place there and trying to figure out what that might look like in Huron County and then working without staff to determine some potential next steps for moving that forward.”

Wark added county council is interested in looking at the Middlesex model as part of the discussion, “acknowledging the fact that there would still be a need for a single administration building, but this would be an opportunity for them to perhaps offer some services to residents at the community level.”

County councillors are interested in the cost attached to the Middlesex model and if it would be feasible in Huron County.
