County terminates CAO after investigation regarding Brucelea Haven

Effective immediately, Bruce County has terminated their Chief Administrative Officer.

In a release, Warden Mitch Twolan says the decision was made after a careful and lengthy process and investigation into recent issues at the Brucelea Haven Long Term Care home, which is under County jurisdiction.

To make an effort into making Brucelea Haven compliant with provincial regulations and standards, Bruce County have turned to Primacare Living Solutions, whom the County cite as "an established, respected long-term care provider."

Warden Twolan says there is no other information available regarding the matter at this time.

“The shortcomings in care at Brucelea Haven impacted some of Bruce County’s most vulnerable residents and we have acted both swiftly and with careful consideration. We are committed to addressing these issues and moving forward to ensure that the County’s long-term-care facilities provide a high level of care for residents in the future.”
