"Council delegates represent thousands of workers in our region and candidates attending the Council meeting demonstrates a level of respect for workers," he said.
Labour Council Vice President Dave Trumble said the council is not exercising its right to endorse any particular candidate.
"It is clear that the best electoral choice for our region is that which fully funds and expands public services, protects and improves pensions, improves labour law and health and safety law, looks after the environment, ensures equity/fairness/inclusivity, protects the rights to unionize and bargain collectively and generally takes its lead from what workers need as compared to what corporations demand," said Trumble.
