The Senior Municipal Relations Manager for OLG recently paid a visit to Clinton.
Tyjondah Kerr said she comes out to Central Huron once a year.
“We are out here celebrating what Central Huron has done with the funds from the casino in Clinton, how it supports the community and how they share and recognize what the casino revenues do for the wonderful community of Clinton and Central Huron,” said Kerr.
Kerr said the proceeds from that fund are used for things like a women's shelter in Clinton, road work, facade improvement in the downtown area, service clubs and recreation. Kerr said how the money is distributed is entirely up to the municipality.
She said councillors know the community best so it's appropriate that they make the decisions on where the money goes.
