Nichol Properties Incorporated presented another zoning amendment to North Perth Council last night concerning a new subdivision coming to the municipality.
Municipal Planner Sean Yilmaz said the change concerns some of the housing pattern within the yet to be built subdivision.
"Some of the area that was slated to have townhouses was swapped to have single detached dwellings, and some of the area that had the single-detached was swapped for the townhouses," he said.
Yilmaz said because some of the housing patterns were swapped around, council asked that a block now be dedicated to medium density multi-unit housing, and a changed area that could contain something new.
"That now will be slated for either an apartment building or stacked townhouses, which will be somewhat of an innovative product here," he said.
In addition to those changes, the density limits were changed from 200-282 to a new count of 214-274.
Nichol Properties Inc. hopes to have the necessary registrations done by the end of this year, with construction hopefully starting next spring. The new subdivision will be across from the Walmart/Zehrs plaza in Listowel along Highway 23.
