Racing motorist charged despite excuse

Perth OPP officers charged a motorist with racing, despite her excuse.

Police pulled over a motor vehicle on Perth Line 36 at about 7 p.m. on Monday. Police allege the car was going more than 50 km an hour over the posted speed limit.

The woman behind the wheel explained that she was trying to get her passenger to the bathroom in a hurry.

However, the 49-year-old Stratford driver was charged with race a motor vehicle.

Her driver's licence was seized and a driving suspension was imposed. The vehicle was towed and impounded.

She is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Stratford on a later date to answer the charge.
