Driver flees after crashing into camper

Police are looking for the driver of a car that collided with a camper trail after he fled the scene of the crash southeast of Listowel.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Friday at around 3:30 p.m., a car travelling west on Perth Line 86, east of Road 124, crossed the centre line and entered the eastbound lane. An eastbound pickup truck hauling a camper trailer had to swerve to avoid a head-on collision, however, the car did collide with the camper.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

Police said the driver of the car may have suffered a head injury in the crash, but he ran from the scene before officers arrived.

The driver of the car is described as a white male, between the age of 25-35, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt.

Perth Line 86 was closed while officers conducted an investigation, but it has since been reopened.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
