The four hospitals in the Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance continue their focus on providing the right care to the right people, in the right place.
Alliance CEO Andrew Williams said one of their concerns is the number of patients currently occupying hospital beds who could be better served in another location, like long term care, home care or palliative care.
"It's about working on the transition points. We had a good discussion at the board around those hand-offs between the hospital and the home, or hospital or long-term care or community into the hospital," he said.
Williams said they are not experiencing conventional hallway medicine at any of their sites, as they work with their health care partners as a team on the transition points.
