Hanover is asking for public opinion regarding a number of issues for its next strategic plan.
Surveys were sent to 400 randomly selected homes last week and CAO Brian Tocheri said the town is hoping to get some useful feedback.
"Council has identified seven or eight objective areas, and so we just want to gauge the communities support for, or against these particular issues," he said.
Tocheri said among the key issues is land.
"Hanover is only nine square kilometres, we have probably a 20-year supply of residential land. But we are virtually out of commercial and industrial land," he said.
Tocheri said another big issue is attainable housing, which seems to be almost a country-wide problem. He said that's a particular concern to local employers.
"Housing prices are a little high and we don't have many alternatives as far as people getting into entry-level housing or affordable housing, or attainable housing," he said.
After the survey deadline of July 31, Tocheri said the town will start to dig through the data and have the new strategic plan ready by late September or early October.
