Blyth Festival to take over lease of Memorial Hall

The Blyth Festival is getting into the landlord business.

The festival has taken over the lease agreement of the Memorial Hall in Blyth.

Following the disbandment of 14/19 Incorporated, council was informed that the Blyth Centre for the Arts was interested in assuming responsibility of the lease agreement for the hall.

Festival Director Gil Garratt said taking over the space year-round is an amazing opportunity for the future.

Reeve Bernie Bailey said the festival promotes North Huron like no one else can, so they're happy to work with them.

The 10-year agreement, with a five-year renewal, will see the Blyth Legion, as well as the Ladies Auxiliary, continue to have use of the building.
