A collision causes a car to catch fire in Owen Sound; woman charged

An Owen Sound woman is charged with impaired driving after a collision in the city cause a car to catch fire.

Police were called to 14th Street West and 2nd Avenue West around 9 p.m. Thursday night for a report of a collision.

One of the vehicles failed to stop at a stop sign and hit the other vehicle causing that vehicle to catch fire. Firefighters responded and were able to put it out.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Paramedics checked out both drivers but neither was hurt.

Police had one of the drivers do a roadside breath test, which she failed, along with two subsequent tests.

A 31-year-old is now facing charges.
