Wellington County is putting the finishing touches on its planned RideWell Service to provide safe affordable transportation throughout the county.
Director of Economic Development Jana Burns said they are using $500,000. in funding from the province for a pilot project over the next four years.
She said the new service incorporates cloud technology from Waterloo's RideCo.
The new service launches on October 1.
Residents can answer an online survey until July 31, which can be found at wellingtoncounty.ca.
RideCo's software optimizes the rides such that as many people with as few vehicles possible are getting to their destinations in a reliable way. People in rural areas without access to vehicles will be able to use Ride Well for their regular needs.
