Tip from the public gets impaired driver off the road

Huron OPP officers are thanking a tip from the public for helping to take a suspected impaired driver off the road.

Police were called about a pick-up truck, pulling a trailer, that was swerving in and out of the marked lane on Bluewater Veteran's Highway, Highway 21 at around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Within minutes, police found the vehicle stuck on the gravel shoulder of the highway at Black's Point Road.

After speaking with the driver, officers suspected she had consumed alcohol and demanded a breath sample. Police paid it registered a fail and the woman was arrested.

A 28-year-old Goderich woman is charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired.
