The Upper Grand District School Board has passed the 2019-20 school year budget.
The operating budget is set at just over $402 million, while the capital budget is set at just under $48 million. For the first time, UGDSB says they will run a deficit, which amounts to just under $4 million, and they will have two more years to balance the budget.
In a release today, UGDSB says the increase in class sizes in Grades 4-8 and all secondary school classes will lower their funding.
