Police arrest two suspects with stolen truck, loaded shotgun

Hanover Police laid a number of charges against two people of no fixed address last week.

On Friday, June 14th just after 7 am, Hanover Police responded to a report of a pick-up truck being aggressively driven in a parking lot in the 700 block of 10 th Avenue in the Town of Hanover. Police did not locate the truck, but later saw a vehicle matching the earlier description in the same parking lot in the afternoon. Officers determined the truck was stolen out of the Perth OPP jurisdiction.

Hanover Police then located two suspects a short distance away. The first suspect was arrested after a brief struggle with officers and a Hanover resident who came to assist police. The second suspect was located shortly afterwards and arrested without incident. Police found a loaded sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun in the stolen truck with other rounds of shells.

The two suspects, a 19-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, were remanded into custody in Hanover for a bail hearing. The investigation is on-going, as the two suspects are wanted in multiple police jurisdictions.

**Edited from an earlier version to correct the gender of second suspect to female*
