Local education union leaders are planning an information picket at a speaking event for Education Minister Lisa Thompson on Friday in Seaforth.
Thompson will be at the Hessenland Inn from 11 am to 1 pm Friday, speaking to members of the South Huron Chamber of Commerce. The union leaders say they wish to hopefully engage Thompson on a number of education-related issues, and provide the public with information.
Shane Restall, president of the local Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation, said their goal is to ask the minister some "pointed questions" and inform the local Chamber of Commerce about how education cuts might affect the economy in the area.
