Local municipality hires new fire chief/director of emergency services

South Bruce Peninsula is welcoming a new fire chief and director of emergency services.

Current Fire Chief Daniel Robinson has announced his retirement from both posts after 10 years with the municipality, and over 39 years in total in the emergency services field.

South Bruce Peninsula Council and Mayor Janice Jackson announced on Tuesday they are pleased to welcome Chief Normand Beauchamp to take up both roles as Chief Robinson transitions into retirement.

Chief Beauchamp has more than 28 years of experience in the emergency services industry with 19 of those years as a fire chief. His most recent post was in the city of Timmins. He will officially assume his new roles in South Bruce Peninsula on June 17.
