A resident in the Meaford-area has been the target of a "romance scam".
The OPP received information this week from the victim and started an investigation.
The resident met a man on a computer dating site over a year ago. The victim believed the man lived in the U.S., but was in Nigeria where he was stationed with the U.S. military.
Over the course of a year, the victim forwarded approximately $150,000 cash to the man.
An OPP investigation is ongoing, but police are warning everyone to be very cautious of online romances.
