Wellington North has awarded the tender for the upgrade to the Arthur Village wastewater treatment plant.
Wellington Construction Contractors of Teviotdale was the lowest price at $6.5 million. The price came in well below the budgeted estimate of $8.5 million.
Mayor Andy Lennox said he is delighted the project is going forward, at a good price and by a Wellington County company. Construction is expected to start soon.
Arthur Village has had a building freeze for several years now as the treatment plant is operating at capacity.
