Officers from the Saugeen Shores Criminal Investigations and Drug Unit conducted a street-level drug investigation in Port Elgin Thursday.
A 30-year-old man from Port Elgin was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, and failing to comply with a recognizance.
He was held for a bail hearing.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
