Money to support mental health in Huron and Bruce

There is $3.3 million coming into Huron and Bruce for mental health and addiction services for the riding.

The announcement was made Friday.

“Mental health and addiction are becoming the most serious health and social challenges facing us today,” said Lisa Thompson, MPP for Huron-Bruce. “We are supporting more mental health services on the ground – in schools, health centres, and communities. Thousands of Ontarians will benefit from our additional investments.”

The money is part of a provincial plan to pour $3.8 billion into a mental health and addictions strategy over the next decade.

Organizations and services receiving new funding include: Huron-Perth Centre for Children and Youth: $93,917 Family Services Perth Huron: $6,500 Choices for Change: $325,000 Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance: $1,484,427 CMHA Huron Perth: $194,916 Community Living Central Huron: $6,500 Grey Bruce Health Services: $1,020,000 CMHA Grey Bruce: $105,371 Keystone Child, Youth and Family Services: $ 110,134
