Two farmers markets for Grand Bend customers

The village of Grand Bend has a new farmers market.

Joan Brady is the manager for the new Grand Bend Village Farmers Market. She explains Grand Bend has had a farmers market since 2005 in several locations, the most recent being the parking lot of the Colonial Hotel. But that location was not available this year, so the decision was made to move the farmers market to the parking lot of the Lambton Shores Museum.

A number of the vendors who had been in the village decided they wanted to stay in the village, and so the Grand Bend Village Farmers Market was formed.

Brady said they'll be set up at St. Johns By The Lake Anglican Church on Highway 21, just north of the lights at the main intersection in Grand Bend.

"Probably about half of the existing vendors are going to be in the village and half will be at the museum, but it has also allowed us to seek some new vendors, so we're quite pleased about that," she said.

This Wednesday will be their opening day, and they'll be open every Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon.
