Pair flee police through field near Listowel before being arrested

Two people were arrested in Listowel after a short foot chase on Sunday.

Perth County OPP were called about a suspended driver operating a minivan east of Listowel with no insurance around 5:30 p.m.

Police located the vehicle at which time the driver allegedly drove into a field, and ran away from the vehicle in an attempt to elude police.

The driver was quickly arrested by officers, along with a female passenger.

A 20-year-old North Perth man was arrested and faces several charges, including operating a vehicle without insurance, as well as flight from a peace officer.

He has a court date set for June 24 in Stratford.

A 33-year-old woman was released unconditionally.
