Conners tied for 51st at Bethpage

Listowel's Corey Conners is tied for 51st at the PGA Championship at Bethpage on Long Island, New York.

He shot a 2-over-72 in his opening round and is nine strokes back of leader Brooks Koepka. Fellow Canadian Adam Hadwin also opened the tournament with a 2-over-72. Koepka's 63 was a course record at Bethpage.

Conners' round was a solid one, shooting par on every hole but the fifth where he had a double bogey on the par four.
