Wellington County is getting ready to launch a demand-based public transportation service based on an application similar to Uber.
The system will connect people for rides for anything from downtown shopping to jobs or doctor’s appointments. The service will have a second feature which will also provide rides to and from work.
Wellington is also partnering with a new bus service running from Owen Sound to Guelph which will have stops in Durham, Mount Forest and Arthur.
Wellington County Councillor Steve O’Neill from Arthur told Wellington North council the service will launch in the fall.
