Central Huron man faces several charges after allegedly trying to avoid RIDE program

A Central Huron man is facing charges after he allegedly tried to avoid a RIDE program near Monkton.

Police said at around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, they were conducting a RIDE program near Monkton when the driver allegedly tried to avoid the checkpoint.

Police stopped the vehicle a short time later and determined the driver had allegedly consumed alcohol.

A 23-year-old man from Central Huron now faces several charges, including operation while impaired, as well as operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

He is scheduled to appear in court in Stratford on June 3 to answer to the charges.
