Bruce Power donates $50K to Huron Shores Hospice

Huron Shores Hospice will receive another $50,000 donation from the Bruce Power Corporate Social Responsibility Program.

The hospice has received $150,000 from Bruce Power over the past four years toward fundraising efforts to sustain and expand quality end-of-life care in south Bruce County.

The one-bed residential hospice provides end-of-life care at no cost to residents of Kincardine, Huron-Kinloss, Saugeen Shores and surrounding areas.

A cheque presentation will take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine, as part of the Huron Shores Hospice annual Hike for Hospice.

“We are very pleased to have Bruce Power’s continued support of our community hospice,” said Cheryl Cottrill, co-chair of Huron Shores Hospice Board of Directors. “Their $50,000 donation will go towards our Phase II fundraising efforts to bring a second residential hospice bed to our community and will provide the VIP Auction Sponsorship at our Handbags for Hospice for 2019 and 2020, helping to ensure a successful event and showing their commitment to expanding this valuable service to our community. We simply would not be where we are today without Bruce Power’s support.”
