Bruce Power hosts #BreaktheSilence19

Bruce Power plans another big fundraiser for Mental Health Week by holding its fourth annual Break the Silence social media campaign Friday.

Community members are encouraged to 'like' the Break the Silence video on the Bruce Power Facebook and Instagram pages, or use the hashtag #BreaktheSilence19 on Twitter.

Bruce Power will donate $1 to local mental health initiatives every time someone uses social media to support the company campaign Friday.

Since 2016, Bruce Power’s #BreaktheSilence social media campaign has brought awareness to mental health issues, resulting in more than $240,000 being donated by Bruce Power to local mental health initiatives.

“Mental health incidents or issues affect one in five Canadians every year,” said Cathy Sprague, Bruce Power’s Executive Vice President, Human Resources.    “Bruce Power wants to support local organizations that help ensure people can get the help they need.   Stigma is a major barrier to people seeking help, so it is important we continue to break down the barriers and talk about mental health.”
