Ontario Provincial Police officers were called to a report of a man walking down the streets of Listowel carrying a handgun.
The North Perth detachment received the report on April 30th at 6 pm. of a suspicious person looking into vehicles on Havelock Street, possibly carrying a gun.
OPP officers responded and quickly located a man who turned out to be in possession of a pellet gun that resembled a handgun. The male was arrested.
A 23-year-old Hanover man was charged with possession of imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of methamphetamine. He is scheduled to appear for in the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on May 27 to answer the charges.
