Representatives of the Goderich Branch of the Huron County Library Services are promoting a program called Goderich Libraries Transforming Communities.
Community Information Librarian Christa Lehnen said the program involves gathering information from the community and then determining what more needs to be done to meet those targets.
Lehnen said it's a little beyond what some people see as the function of the library, and they work on the issues that they can with the services and programs that they have.

One of the most effective tools they have to help newcomers find and access community services is the 211 service, but many are not aware of the service.
That information is now part of their Newcomer Welcome package and it's also a resource that's available at the library.
Another one of their goals is to help young people be part of their community.
