The Mayor of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has some good news for township residents.
At this week's council meeting, council approved this year's budget with an increase of just 2.8%.
“We have a very ambitious council and a very ambitious work plan going forward," said Mayor Glen McNeil. "So we increased our budget by 2.8%, which means for every household with a value of $100,000 in their home, they would only see an increase of $25.”
The budget is filled with a number of infrastructure projects, mainly roads.
“We're going to pave a million dollars of new pavement in A-C-W this year. We're going to spend a half a million on bridge repairs and another half a million on road constructions that will lead to more paved roads going forward,” added McNeil.
There was also a small amount taken out of reserves to go towards renovations to the Benmiller Town Hall.
