Popovich shuts the door to give Guelph a 2-0 series lead

Nick Suzuki's goal just three minutes into the game would stand as the winner as Guelph blanked Kitchener 7-0 to take a 2-0 lead in their first round playoff series.

Anthony Popovich earned the shut out with 22 saves. Liam Hawel lead the Storm with a pair of goals and an assist.

Alexey Toropchenko scored and set up two for the visitors.

The Storm chased Rangers netminder Luke Richardson from net. He allowed six goals on 25 shots over two periods. Lucas Pfeil relieved him in the third and stopped eight of the nine shots he faced.

Game 3 goes tomorrow night in Kitchener.
