B.R.A. making changes this spring

Curbside and laneway recycling pickup is changing this spring in parts of the Municipality of Bluewater.

The village of Hensall is the only area of Bluewater that is on the automated collection system, using the wheelie bins. The rest of the municipality is still on the manual system.

Bluewater Recycling Association President Francis Veilleux said it takes five trucks to collect the entire municipality on Mondays, but they only have two trucks that still do manual collection.

So they're moving the collection day to Thursday for the area east of highway 21, not including the east side of the highway. The change will start in the first week of May.

Veilleux added they will decide sometime in the next year whether to buy new manual collection trucks, or discontinue manual collection and go with all automated collection using wheelie bins.
