Huron County's Economic Development Department is promoting several local entrepreneurs.
The department hosted a "Dragon's Den" style competition Thursday night at the Livery Theatre in Goderich.
Female entrepreneurs and children from Grades 4 to 8 pitched their ideas for a new business.
The winner in the children's division was nine-year-old Gracie Kozachanko. She's in Grade 4 at Stephen Central School and her business involves growing vegetables to make sure her community is healthy. She's donating $100 of her prize money to her school's snack program.
The winner in the women's division was Janneke Vorsteveld, with her business "Seeds, Rooted in Youth."

Vorsteveld runs an outdoor program for youth ages eight to 12 on PA days and during the March Break. She also offers week-long programs in the summer, where they spend all day outdoors and go on field trips to go to local community businesses.
She says she'll use the $500 to market and expand her business.
