The outage affected thousands of people east of Hanover including Allen Park and parts of Durham.
Grey Highlands Secondary School has closed for the day because of the power outage.
The outage also affected several other schools, as well as businesses, farms and households.
They were produced during an intense storm last Saturday afternoon.
