Huron County now accepting applications for heritage funding

Huron County is now accepting applications for funding through its Huron Heritage Fund.

Beth Rumble is the Director of Cultural Services and explains each year they have $25,000 set aside to encourage the preservation of heritage assets and activities of heritage importance to the County of Huron and its residents.

“We will fund any project up to $5,000," said Rumble. "Those are matching funds, so the applying organization will have to match whatever they're requesting of us.”

Rumble says successful projects in the past have included upgrades to a heritage park, history books for local municipalities, Little Theatre in Goderich productions and the Sallows Gallery.

“It's a nice variety of heritage programs and facilities that we've given money to in the past,” said Rumble.

The deadline for this round of funding is May 1st, and Rumble says if there's any money left over, it will go into another round in November.

More information about the application process can be found on the Huron County Museum's web site.
