Conners holds his own against the best-of-the-best

Listowel's Corey Conners finished tied for 41st at the Players Championship.

His score of 4-under 284 was the second best among the Canadians in the field. Nick Taylor was the low Canadian at 10-under 278 and tied for 16th.

Connors best round was the third, where he shot a 4-under 68. He struggled on the final round, shooting a 2-over 74.

Northern Ireland's Rory McIllroy won the event with a final score of 16-under 272. American Jim Furyk was one stroke back, alone in second place.
