A number of communities in our region have partnered with the Rural Ontario Institute on a new youth engagement project.
The project will see each of the ten communities create their own unique approach to youth engagement, tailored to address needs in the local community.
Young people between 15 and 29 years of age will then apply to help implement those strategies.
The four-month internships will begin in May. Among those communities included are Hanover, Perth County, North Wellington, Wellington Big Brothers and Big Sisters and South Huron.
Also included are the Timmins Youth Wellness Hub, Brock Youth Centre, the Municipality of South Dundas, Recreation Outreach Centre – Picton, and the City of Brockville.
The communities are accepting applications for the internship, and the job description and instructions to apply can be found on the town and organization websites.
