OHL: Suzuki leads Storm to victory, Attack fall short in the Soo

Sault Ste. Marie 4 Owen Sound 3

Jackson Doherty, Sergey Popov and Kaleb Pearson all scored in the Owen Sound Attack's 4-3 loss to Sault Ste. Marie.

Doherty opened the scoring with a short handed goal about seven minutes into the first period. Keeghan Howdeshell answered for the Greyhounds about nine minutes later to make it a tie game heading into the second.

Jordan Sambrook gave the Greyhounds the lead with a short handed goal just 30 seconds into the middle frame. Cullen McLean scored just over two minutes later to make it 3-1 for the Soo. Popov scored on the power play goal in the final minute of the period to make it a 3-2 game.

Howdeshell's second goal of the game, midway through the third would stand as the winner. Pearson put the Attack to within a point with less than two minutes on the clock but Owen Sound couldn't score the equalizer.

Mack Guzda made 21 saves in the loss. Matthew Villalta stopped 26 shots for the Greyhounds.

London 3 Erie 1

Antonio Stranges' goal midway through the third would stand as the game winner as London defeated Erie 3-1.

Adam Boqvist opened the scoring for the Knights at 4:36 of the first. Petr Cajka tied the game at 2:24 of the second.

Alec Regula's empty netter on the power play with less than a minute left in the game would give the Knights some insurance.

Guelph 8 Kitchener 4

Nick Suzuki struck twice and set up four more as Guelph doubled Kitchener 8-4.

Nate Schnarr scored a hat trick in the win and had two helpers.

The Rangers were led by Joseph Garreffa and Justin MacPherson who each scored and had an assist.
