Two arrested in Port Elgin with drugs and a weapon

A substance believed to be "purple fentanyl" has been seized by police in Saugeen Shores.

Police received a tip Thursday about a man sleeping in a vehicle in Port Elgin. Officers checked on his well-being, and noticed evidence of drug possession in the vehicle.

The man was arrested, along with a woman who was also associated with the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle found a substance believed to be purple fentanyl, along with crystal meth and prohibited knife.

A 58-year-old Walkerton man and a 35-year-old Mount Forest woman were charged with various drug and weapons offences. Both were released with a court date.
