Wellington North has approved its 2019 budget, which will hit ratepayers with a 3.7 per cent municipal tax increase.
The budget includes a $20 million capital budget, with about half going to infrastructure renewal. That includes roads and $8 million for the new Arthur Waste Water Treatment Plant.
Council expressed disappointment at the low turnout at a budget open house earlier in the month, but Mayor Andy Lennox said it may indicate the public has put its trust in council to make the right decisions.
