The Ontario Provincial Police are reminding drivers to obey road closure signs.
on Monday during the blizzard and wind storm that swept through the province, many provincial highways and county-run roads were closed due to very dangerous driving conditions. During that time, officers from throughout the region had to respond to numerous calls for people stranded or in accidents on closed roads.
A total of 15 provincial offence notices were issued to motorists for driving on a closed road. The total fine for this offence under the Highway Traffic Act is $110 and three demerit points.
Police want to remind drivers that road closed signs are never to be ignored and are there for your safety.
