This is a big week for Owen Sound's new police chief.
Craig Ambrose will be sworn in Friday at an official Change of Command Ceremony at the Best Western Inn on the Bay.
Inspector Ambrose comes to Owen Sound from the Waterloo Regional Police Service where he served in the Intelligence Bureau.
He will replace Chief Bill Sornberger, who is retiring after 42 years of policing.
Ambrose is scheduled to become Owen Sound's 16th chief of police at 1:30 p.m.
Guests invited to the Change of Command ceremony include the city's, Mayor Ian Boddy, the chair of the Police Services Board, a representative of the Owen Sound Police Association and the Ontario Chiefs of Police Association. Both the MP and the MPP for the Bruce-Grey Owen Sound riding will also attend.
