A "Catch The Ace" lottery continues to support the purchase of a new MRI system for the Owen Sound Regional Hospital.
Representatives from five hospital foundations have presented a cheque for over $22,000 to Grey Bruce Health Services, which came from the proceeds of Round One of the Catch the Ace GBHS lottery.
Catch the Ace GBHS supports the Owen Sound Hospital Foundation, the Bruce Peninsula Health Services Foundation, Centre Grey Hospital Foundation, Meaford Hospital Foundation, and Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.
The five foundations are now working on Round Two of Catch the Ace, which will also support the new MRI for the Owen Sound hospital.
The MRI in the Owen Sound Regional Hospital is used over 11,000 times per year on patients from across Grey and Bruce to diagnose a range of medical conditions.
Tests done with the next generation of MRI technology will be faster, quieter and more comfortable for patients, and will provide physicians with higher quality images to aid in more accurate diagnoses.
