The warden of Huron County, along with the other 15 members of the Western Warden's Caucus, got an update this week on the status of the SWIFT project to bring broadband service to Southwestern Ontario.
Jim Ginn said they met with a group of Ministers at the ROMA conference in Toronto, and there are still some questions.
He said the funding is still up in the air and the Province is still looking for more information from the board of directors.
"The CAOs of all of the counties are going to check out some of the things like terms of reference for the SWIFT board and the Western Wardens Caucus. They seem to be concerned that the Western Wardens don't have enough control over the board, in spite of the fact that we have eight of the 15 members that sit on it," said Ginn.
Ginn added he is optimistic it will be done, but they're not there yet.
"I think the Western Wardens will be meeting again quite shortly to discuss it," he said.
