Counterfeit money passed in Goderich

A Huron East resident is facing charges involving counterfeit money.

Huron OPP officers were contacted by two separate Goderich businesses on January 15, 2019, after they both realized they had taken in counterfeit US money. In the first instance, on January 14, a counterfeit $100 USD bill was used at a restaurant in Goderich to pay for a meal. Shortly thereafter, police said the same person purchased cigarettes and gasoline at a gas station in Goderich with another counterfeit $100 USD bill.

Karley Frayer, 29, from Huron East has been charged with two counts of uttering counterfeit money and one count of failing to comply with a probation order. She has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for January 28, 2019, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
