Expect blustery weather across the region Wednesday

Motorists are facing a slow drive in most of our region this morning as a blanket of heavy snow continues to fall over the area.

Major routes are snow-covered, snow-packed and slushy. Secondary roads are snowcovered and drifted sections. Visibility is reduced at times because of blowing snow. Plows and sanders are making regular patrols.

The snow will change to freezing rain and rain in the afternoon with a very strong wind. That means sudden changes in road conditions.

Poor visibility is reported along Highway 21 between Goderich and Owen Sound.

And with the weather, there are bus cancellations.

Drivers are reminded to watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.

With a drop in temperature tonight, roads will be quite icy in places.
