The local unemployment rate increased slightly in December.
The Four County Labour Market Planning Board has reported an unemployment rate of 3.7 percent for the Stratford-to-Bruce Peninsula Economic Region. That was an increase of 0.1 percent from November.
Employment decreased by 1,900 in the region in full-time and part-time positions. The greatest losses were in agriculture, construction, and the services-producing sector.
The provincial unemployment rate decreased by 0.3 percentage points to 4.9 per cent.
