About 100 dogs and their owners competed at a recent Dog Agility competition at the REACH Centre in Clinton.
Gloria Mitchell is the owner of the Tollhaven Learning Centre which hosted the event.
"There's three levels of competition so some people are doing their first run ever, at a trial. We have several members here who will be representing Canada in Europe so they're prepping their dogs for the Regional Championships, so there's everything from brand new folks to folks like me who have been doing it for 26 years," she says.
Mitchell says her club is also hosting the Regionals, which is a three-day event on the last weekend in May, also at the REACH Centre.
One of the competitors at the event believes she's the oldest competitor in Canada. Shirley McRitchie will be 90 years old in December.
She says the dog agility competition is similar to the obstacle course horses run, but smaller for dogs, and they have got a number of qualifying rounds before they move on.
