The historic Clinton Town Hall should have a new roof in the next week or two.
Central Huron Mayor Jim Ginn said the roof is original slate and more than 100 years old and they've been dealing with the occasional water leak. But the problem became a little more urgent when pieces of the slate starting falling off the roof earlier this year.
"We did add some insulation and some ventilation underneath the roof before we closed it in, being that it may not be off again for a hundred years, so we thought that was wise," said Ginn. "Just some structural stuff in the roof as well, essentially the roof and insulation."
Ginn had hoped it would be done before the Santa Clause Parade this weekend, but said it's weather-dependent this time of year, so it could be another week or two.
